If you have been part of our community for a while, you will know that I love to write! As well as sharing all sorts of stories on the blog here about the amazing people I come across, our Sustainable Home Hubsters, and tips on living a sustainable life, I also love to write stories and poetry. Sometimes you will see a piece pop up on the blog, or on social media.

As well as blogging here, I am currently finishing my thesis and planning a second book about living a slow sustainable life. One of the most exciting things I am doing, is finally writing my first novel! It is a middle grade novel, for age around 10 – 14 years. It is set on the backdrop of drought in rural NSW and includes a baby magpie, an observatory, a national park, a camp and a storm. The story is centred around the main character who thinks she is hopeless and discovers she is brave, and a bully who turns out to be scared. It is about how friendship can come from the most unlikely of places and is a journey together through a series of events that will change all of their lives.

I have started an Author website – Helen Edwards Writes – and would love you to come and join me there. You can still follow across all the usual social media and sign up for the newsletter to keep up with all things writing and books – head here.
