I just love uncovering new talent and products, especially those who are working in a sustainable, eco friendly way (and when it involves cushions!)

tishtashy is a fresh creative project in the making by Melbourne based Canadian-Australian Artist, Natasha Robinson. Specializing in everyday home decor that has a brightly whimsical feel and an environmentally passionate message, including eco friendly cushions and art.

Natasha says that after many years being somewhat estranged from her incredibly creative past, she has finally been reunited by the birth of her daughter. “I am grateful to be able to create from home with her by side. She is a constant source of inspiration and boundless excitement.”

Outside of her own creative business, Natasha has been working in the renewable energy and sustainability industry for nearly 6 years (full time before she had her baby) and also has her Cert III & IV in renewable energy, and a Home Sustainability Assessment Certificate. Her home is powered by Solar, and they try their hardest to be a chemical free household.

Cushions

Natasha’s cushions are made of almost 100% recycled materials (zip excepted). All images are her own photography and are printed on recycled water bottle fabric, the backing is re-purposed cotton (mostly hand dyed unless the found fabric is too good to alter) and the inserts are 100% recycled water bottle fluff. I think they are beautiful and adore cushions with real images on them, especially when they are this personal, it makes them very unique.

Plant hangers

The plant hangers are a twist on the old macrame style. They have a natural wooden ring, and a hand felted wool (Corriedale fleece from New Zealand) holder with a glass container inside to prevent leaking.

Greeting Cards

The cards and envelopes are made using 100% post consumer recycled paper, and the cellophane packaging is compostable.

The sweet tiny people have been handmade by Natasha’s sister who lives in Ontario Canada. “As I am a Canadian-Australian, the photography is a mix from the natural beauty of both countries” explains Natasha.

Baby Singlets and Fairy Babies

Currently, Natasha also makes tiny felted fairy babies in felted wool nests and upcycled baby singlets with a hand stitched felt patch. Both of these items will soon be made for markets only.

A lovely business with lots of heart. Do you also have a thing for cushions?
